In support of our mission, all services through The Academy Project are available to foster youth members completely free of charge.
The Co-Op after-school program is designed to support foster youth in middle school. Operating Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, The Co-Op offers a nutritious snack, tutoring, homework help and the opportunity to participate in enrichment programs such as music, art, and film. We also offer special programs over some weekends and during out-of-school time. There is no cost to our families or schools to participate in any of our programs. Transportation is offered if needed.

History of The Academy Project
Founded in 2015, The Academy Project is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing services, resources, and advocacy to foster youth in Los Angeles, CA, through education, empowerment, and community. The program is based on research, including studies conducted by Princeton University specifically for TAP, showing that placement stability and relationships with consistent, caring adults can positively impact foster and at-risk youth. The Co-Op, TAP's out-of-school time enrichment program, offers a variety of activities, including tutoring, reading remediation, arts enrichment, and field trips. Additionally, Camp Xavier, held annually in partnership with Loyola High School, provides a week-long retreat for over 50 foster youth.
